About This Role

We believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage all Software Engineers within the Munitions group in the Textron Systems Weapons division.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels for Software Engineers, including Full time employees, co-ops, interns, and contractors; forecast needs to meet program and organizational requirements.
  • Drive Software Engineer development and engagement through: performance management (establishing objectives, conducting reviews, and providing feedback); facilitating regular communication (hosting meetings, resolving issues, mentoring team members); developing detailed skills planning and providing training opportunities to enhance capabilities.
  • Oversee customer deliverables, including review and approval of software architecture and requirements development; ensure deliverables meet internal quality expectations and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and improve departmental performance via analysis of quality metrics related to process compliance and overall team performance; gather and address feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience, OR Master's degree (M.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Embedded and application software engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methods and tools.
  • Understanding of Model-Based Engineering practices.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies is preferred.
