Azure Cloud Solutions Architect (Permanent)

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland Country: UK Rate: Share Scheme
 

The Role:

The Cloud Engineering Team is a highly specialized group of professionals who assist clients in adopting cloud technologies, optimizing cloud environments, migrating from Legacy systems, and providing full automation within cloud environments. The goal is to offer clients best practices, adopt standards, build client capability, and enable them to transform their organizations through the use of cloud technology.

The Candidate:

As a Cloud Architect, you will serve as a hands-on cloud expert with experience in designing, building, and optimizing cloud platforms. You will work with various clients within the Cloud Engineering portfolio.

Therefore, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Technical experience gained through direct involvement in hands-on technology projects.
  • You should have an in-depth understanding of the solution options available for common challenges found in the cloud arena.
  • Familiarity with working in a professional services environment and an understanding of the dynamics of supplier-client relationships.
  • Specialization in the Azure cloud domain.
  • Ability to design cloud platforms with a focus on incorporating security and best practices into every design.
  • You will also be involved in implementing these platforms either individually or as part of a larger team.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for technology and the ability to make a significant impact on business operations.
  • Understanding of broader enterprise culture, needs, and challenges.
  • Experience in leading/managing on-site teams with clients while also being a team player within the larger group of engineers.
  • Willingness to be hands-on with the work, going beyond leadership and direction, to deliver the required outcomes for clients.
  • Excellent skills in both writing documentation and presenting solutions, with the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with stakeholders and the development of empathy for their needs.
  • This will allow you to influence decision-making and gain buy-in for new ideas at a C-suite level.
  • A growth mindset, with a natural curiosity, a propensity to challenge, and a focus on process improvement.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Expertise in Azure cloud technology.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Azure and other cloud technologies.
  • Proficiency in cloud migrations and cloud-native operations.
  • Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
  • Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with other Azure technologies such as VDI, Windows 365, Identity & Security is beneficial.
