Data Engineer (Contract)

Location: Brussels Country: Belgium Rate: Euros Market Rates Apply
 

50% onsite in Brussels, 50% WFH.

Strong written and spoken communication skills in English and proficiency in French or Dutch are a bonus.

Are you a data Engineer looking for a new challenge? Our client based in Brussels embraces the flexibility of a hybrid working model, with an expectation of 50% on-site and 50% remote work.

As a Data Engineer, you will be supporting the data team in preparing and securing data for various uses like reporting, analytics, and applications and will have a focus on IT Production activities related to data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the data model on the datalake.
  • Analyse the best sources of data and define business and technical rules for integration.
  • Prototype solutions for business validation in collaboration with IT delivery data engineers.
  • Work with IT Delivery to automate data feeding and delivery from data warehouses, data marts, and datasets. You'll also be responsible for pushing these pipelines to production.
  • Streamline data pipelines across the enterprise for maximum usage.
  • Operate and maintain the ETL environment and file transfer and be responsible for all changes made in pre-production and production environments.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics
  • Technical experience in Python, Oracle, MS SQL, HDFS, Hive, DWH, and ETL is essential.
  • Familiarity with IBM Datastage, Informatica suite, BI reporting tools, and cloud technologies.
  • Team player, Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment.
